Prostate Gland Growth

The prostate gland goes through a big period of growth during male adolescence. This growth typically slows down by the age of 25. For some men, the prostate gland continues to grow after the age of 50. This growth later in life can lead to Enlarging Prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Nearly 50% of men over the age of 50 have an enlarging prostate.2 That number increases to 80% in men over
the age of 80.

Because Enlarging Prostate plays such a big role in the health of men over the age of 50, it's important they get regular prostate exams. If left untreated, an enlarged prostate can potentially lead to serious urinary problems, possibly even surgery.
